Harrodian VS Royal Russell School

The fifth game of the season and it was a big one. We knew they were a very good team which got everyone going and everyone was dying to win the game.

After the better performance we had against Latymer on the Saturday. We went with the same formation of a 3-5-2. Which had Ale and Finn playing a key role in the attack as well as the defending side of the game. Everyone was ready for the game and wanting to end the half term on a high and in winning ways.

In the first half, we got it to a good start with Felix leading the press putting them under pressure which eventually forced them to crack and leading to Charlie scoring (or maybe an own goal) from the second ball on the edge of the box. The team looked solid and we dominated the first half however a long ball from the centre back who was pinging diagonals every chance he got broke out lines and their striker volleyed it from a narrow angle, taking a deflection and ending in the back of the net. We had a positive reaction to this setback and soon after scored a very well worked goal. Seeing Rafa ping a ball up towards Felix who leapt up and flicked the ball perfectly into Jordi’s path. A difficult finish from a tight angle but jordi managed to slot it bottom right. We went into halftime 2-1 happy about the reaction we have had and the score going in.

Second half began and we remained solid throughout the second half. Neither team were able to score in this half however it was still a tough battle all over the pitch. Everyone put in a solid shift and everyone was buzzing over the result as the final whistle blew. A great way to finish the half term.

Onto the second half of the season with everyone hoping to continue the winning ways.
