Sutton Grammar 1 vs 4 Harrodian

Goals: Jordi x 3, Ale (pen)

Man of the match: George Kimble

Harrodian set off at 1:15pm for a long trek to Sutton Grammar school. The coach ride vibes were cranking up as Harrodian went in confident of the bounce of a great win against Wellington. Oscar had too many pulled pork burgers at lunch and let rip on route almost the squad. The warm up began and we were ready, we started with the iconic front three of Oscar, Clem and Jordi leading the line. The midfield consisted of Ale, George and Fran protecting the back four of Jago, Remi, Alek and Finn. Sid was called up for his first team debut after the injury of Lucas during warm up. We started strong and caught Sutton on the back foot and lead to a flurry of chances as Oscar hit the post with a thunderbolt from his weaker left foot shot. It didn’t take long for Jordi to grab his first of the game as Alek picked up the ball and fed it into the box, as expected Jordi hit across the goalie giving Harrodian the much deserved lead. Remi sadly got caught and picked up an injury leading to an early substitution, which led to Marlowe slotting in at right back and doing an excellent job with Alek moved over to center-back. Sutton weren’t going to give In easily as they were protecting their unbeaten run so far this season. They had an excellent move down the right with a pacy winger who cut it back for a tap in at the back post to level the game. Sutton kept the pressure up as the same move lead to another shot on goalie which was heroically cleared off the line by Alek which kept the game level at halftime. Harrodian came into the second half hungry for the win and not long into the second half Oscar hunted down the Sutton Center-back and forced a loose pass, Clem picked up the ball and drove at the defence winding through before finding Jordi at the back edge of the box where he rifled it into the roof of the net to restore the much deserved Harrodian lead. Oscar drew a foul not long later in a great position and Jordi stepped up and with the help of a deflection to complete his hat-trick. The flowing attacking football of harrodian wasn’t looking to stop any anytime soon as Jordi drew a foul in the box earning the second penalty of the season. Ale stepped up and placed the ball into the right bottom corner to grab his third goal of the season, sealing the game. Harrodian held firm and controlled the game as Frankie and Masimo came on to see out the win and continue the good form off the back of the Wellington game, ending Suttons win streak. What a win and onto the Latymer game for the much needed revenge.
