Going into our first match of the season we were feeling confident that we could break our losing curse from last season and that's exactly what we did. After a strong warm up on a slightly tilted court and an audience consisting of most of their sixth form ready to watch our match, we were ready to start fast. With thanks to our solid defence of Lola and Carla, we were able to come out of the first quarter up by 8 goals. Jessie and Nelly were able to continue with consistent shooting through the second quarter despite Grey Court’s audience trying to put them off. After an encouraging team talk, we were ready to increase the pressure on Grey Court with the help of Matilda’s vocal distractions. This meant that Grey Court didn’t score one goal through the quarter which allowed us to extend our lead significantly and take the win of our first game of the season. We now look forward to a tough match against St Benedicts on Saturday.
